A national, registered education charity (275429) which has been working for 25 years linking urban children with the countryside. The Trust specialises in the organisation of educational visits to the country mainly for primary schools located in disadvantaged and challenging areas of large towns and cities. One-day visits take place in term time throughout the year, usually with a class of children with their teacher and other adults, to private country estates, farms, rural businesses, woods and forests, villages, castles and many other rural venues. There is always an experienced member of the Trust present on a visit to facilitate the day. Each year a number of 2/3/4 night residential visits are organised for deserving schools. The Trust makes no charge for its services and subsidises transport costs when necessary. In recent years involvement with schools in Yorkshire, especially in Bradford, has been significantly increased with the cooperation of Police Community/Schools Liaison Officers. The Trust also has participating schools in Sheffield, Leeds and Middlesbrough, as well as Sunderland and Newcastle further north.
